| Trail Maintainers | Blaze the trail, clear brush and grass, add drainage, re-bench and relocate trails. | None |
| Trail Builders | Bench new trails in, clear brush, blaze new trails. | None |
| Sawyers | Cut blowdowns on existing trails, cut fallen logs to enable new trails. | Should be comfortable using chainsaw, must complete/have completed state forest safety class to work on state land, federal class to work on federal land. |
| Trail Adopters | Adopt a specific section of trail, walk it at least four times per year, cut back brush and grass as needed, pick up trash, report bigger problems for trail maintenance team or sawyers to deal with. | None |
| Web Developer | Help maintain and improve our website | Familiarity with WordPress |
| Public Relation Manager | Identify media outlets that might run stories about the HHT. Write and send press releases. Contact media outlets to pitch stories | Public relations background/experience |
| Social Media Manager | Develop content and post on HHT social media | None |
| Legal | Work on donations and purchases of land and easements for trail development. | We’re seeking a real estate lawyer interested in pro-bono work. |
| Development Director | Solicit donations, write grants, develop funding sources. | Experience/comfort with developing funding streams for non-profit organizations. |
| Trail Expansion Directors | Serve as liason to state forests, state parks, and national forest to work toward expanding and improving the trail. Contact private landowners to seek donations or sale of easements for trail expansion. | Be comfortable cold-calling land owners, be willing to hear “no” a lot and keep trying! |
